This past winter, Misgav camp theme was ‘Misgav Camp; out of this world!’ and nothing could have been more accurate. It was a stimulating, fun packed week for campers and carers alike, spent to the fullest at our camp in Manchester.
The extraordinary camp heads, Miss Esti Fischman and Miss Etty Fried, supported by an outstanding group of devoted counsellors, gave each camper exceptional care and true friendship. The young women were encouraged to partake in general day to day chores learning valuable independent and hands on skills throughout the week long trip.
Our incredible itinerary included crazy golf, bowling, pottery, candle making and trampolining. The evenings were filled with excitement, entertainment, and a good deal of happy noise with drumming workshops, balloon modelling, drama sessions, zumba and a professional puppet show! Our music instructor, Mrs Chavi Margulies travelled up from London to give the most phenomenal concert imaginable – the highlight of camp for so many, with joyous, rousing singing and dancing with electric energy. The grand Misgav talent show – a highly anticipated event was held. We had fun rehearsing and were then treated to an impressive range of talent and ability: evidently, Misgav users have talent!
There was an absolutely magical atmosphere in camp – of joy, positivity, kindness, unity and exhilarating fun and energy. As camp progressed, one thing became clear to all campers, counsellors and staff; as captured by our camp theme, Misgav camp is, without a doubt, “the best place in the universe!”
